India-Singapore bonhomie over a cup of coffee in New York

Leaders and ministers from around the world have been having a busy few days as they all attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

S Jaishankar is no different and after a tough day on Thursday meeting various counterparts from all across the globe and addressing the SAARC Council of Foreing Ministers, the Indian External Affairs Minister took a much-needed coffee break. And giving him company was none other than his Singapore counterpart, Vivian Balakrishnan.

“A much-needed coffee break. With just the right companion, FM @VivianBala of Singapore” tweeted Jaishankar.

To which Balakrishnan replied, “Thank you so much @DrSJaishankar for the good coffee and great food for thought, as always!”

Both ministers clearly welcoming a little India-Singapore bonhomie to break the seriousness of global meetings and talks.
