I am a director’s actor: Puravalan Narayanasamy

Senior Singapore actor Puravalan Narayanasamy is a director’s actor – but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t a thinking actor. Rather, he feels it is important because while his job is to act, “but the director sees [product] as a whole.”

Puravalan’s love for acting is easy to see. “I can act. I can act for hours, and I can’t do anything better,” he told Connected to India.

The versatile artiste is always looking to offer his audience something better than what he has done before. He has been active on stage, in TV and films for over 30 years, and has cultivated a large fan base both in Singapore and overseas.

Among his notable works are the drama Animal Farm staged by Ravindran Drama Group in 2002, and iconic local Tamil TV shows Gurupaarvai and Vettai. He has also ventured to Kollywood with Kamal Haasan’s company Raaj Kamal Films International.
