Now, drive from Bangalore to Mysore in 90 minutes

Soon, one would be able to drive from Bangalore to Mysore in just one-and-a-half hours on the newly built Bangalore-Mysore Expressway. Built at a cost of INR 8,066 crore, the NHAI has completed the highway project months before the official deadline. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the highway on March 11.

The launch of the expressway will mark the completion of a major infrastructural project that will benefit millions of people in the region.

Emphasising this benefit, Modi said, "The Bangalore-Mysore Expressway is a testament to our government's commitment to improving transportation infrastructure in the country. This highway will significantly reduce travel time between two important cities and improve connectivity in the region."

Previously, the old Bangalore-Mysore Road was plagued by traffic congestion and long travel times. The new expressway, with its six-lane design, is expected to significantly improve the overall commuting experience for thousands of people.

In addition to reducing travel time, the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway is also expected to have a significant economic impact on the region. Improved connectivity between Bangalore and Mysore is likely to lead to increased business opportunities and tourism in the area. This, in turn, is expected to create jobs and boost the local economy.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said, "The Bangalore-Mysore Expressway is a prime example of our government's focus on building world-class infrastructure. This project will benefit millions of people in the region and create new opportunities for growth and development."

The impact is appreciated by the local state leadership as exemplified by Karnataka CM Basavraj Bommai.

"I am grateful to the National Highways Authority of India and the various other organizations involved in the project for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts have led to the completion of a major infrastructural project that will benefit millions of people in the region," he said.

In conclusion, the launch of the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway by PM Modi in March is a significant milestone for the state of Karnataka. Its launch is expected to significantly improve connectivity between two important cities and have a positive impact on the local economy.

The expressway project has two packages - the first is from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta in Maddur taluk for around 56 km and the second package connects Nidaghatta to Mysuru (61 km).

The highway would see several new technology innovations for the first time in the country. These include global-standard infrastructure, five bypasses, a mixture of greenfield and brownfield and dedicated lanes for rural and urban traffic.
