Led by an architect, a multi-disciplinary consultancy team will be appointed later this year to plan the scope of the design and construction works.

A builder will be appointed in early 2019, with the completion of works scheduled for 2021. “As redevelopment will take place in a high-traffic area, it will be conducted in phases to minimise inconveniences,” said Sentosa.

The 12-hectare Merlion Gateway Precinct, which links pedestrians between the Merlion Cableway Station, Imbiah and Beach Sentosa Express Stations, and the Beach Carpark and Coach Terminals, will have an elevated walkway, greater pedestrian capacity and more photo points. Aerial views of the beach are also part of the plan.

A tender for proposals for a new “entertaining and interactive” adventure attraction on a one-hectare site between Imbiah Lookout and Siloso Beach was launched in May. More details of the attraction will be given after the evaluation of tender proposals.

Bungee-jumping, giant swings and a commercial vertical skywalk will be launched in August, while two new tracks for the Skyline Luge will be ready by the end of the year.
