Grief over Indian marketer Radhika’s untimely demise

In a bizarre accident on February 11, a 40m-tall tembusu tree uprooted at the Singapore Botanic Gardens and killed a young and dynamic professional, 38-year-old Radhika Angara from India.

While talking to Connected to India, one of her close friend Prantik Mazumdar shared that Radhika was someone who was loved by everyone around her.

Managing Partner at Happy Marketer, Prantik said, “I first got to know Radhika through a common friend, when she invited us to pitch for digital services for Fastacash, where she served as a CMO. We were fortunate to work with her for over two years and she was someone everyone in the organisation loved working with. She gave us clear briefs, she worked with our delivery team in India to provide further context and guidance as well as appreciated when we did well, which is not something many clients do often.”

He further said that Radhika was kind enough for any help without any returns.

Sharing his griefs on losing a dear friend, Mazumdar from Bangalore said that he recollects the numerous chats that they both used to have at the Starbucks, which was her favourite joint in town for work discussions.

He said “I will always remember Radhika as a beautiful, kind and thoughtful person - someone who knew how to balance her professional and personal lives and believed in contributing and giving more than receiving. What happened to her and her family was rather unfortunate and cruel and I still can't come to terms with her. My heart goes out to Jerome, Chloe, Rachel and everyone in the family and I will pray that may God give them the strength to bear this sudden loss.”

The incident left Radhika’s French husband, Jerome Rouch-Sirech, 39, and their two children, one-year-old twins injured.

Radhika was an alumna of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania from where she had done her MBA. In a career spanning 15 years she had worked in the advertising agency Euro RSCG, US based foods company General Mills, French MNC the Ingenico Group, Indian retailer Myntra, Singapore based Fastacash and MasterCard.
