Releasing a press statement, the executive committee of NDP said, “This year's parade will be an engaging spectacle for Singaporeans, with highlights such as a Salute to the Nation by five Republic of Singapore Air Force F-15SG fighter aircraft, a special tribute to 50 years of National Service, two exhilarating Dynamic Defence Display segments as well as a Show segment featuring mass displays, special effects and active audience participation.”

As the venue’s seating capacity has decreased, there will be one additional preview show which will give the chance to more Singaporeans to watch the show live, said Ng Eng Hen, Singapore Defence Minister, in a Facebook post.

About 150,000 Singaporeans are expected to watch the NDP, including two preview shows, live on July 22 and 29; three national education shows, and the actual day’s performance make up the programme.

The press statement stated, “Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents can apply for tickets to the two Previews and National Day Parade (NDP) from May 23 to June 4.”

It added, “Successful applicants will be notified from June 26 to July 3 via the contact number provided in their application. Successful applicants may collect their tickets from July 7 to 9 and July 14 to 16,  between 10am and 9pm, at the National Gallery Singapore, Basement 1, The Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium Foyer.

Singapore citizens and permanent residents can apply for two, four or six tickets to the preview shows or the actual parade via SMS or the official NDP website.

To make the parade memorable, NDP 2017 will be telecast live and there will be live 360° video streaming on NDPeeps’ YouTube this year. NDPeeps is the parade’s Facebook platform. This year’s NDP theme is #OneNationTogether, a call to Singaporeans to be “confident in our collective future as we overcome all odds together”, the organisers said.
